Bart Van Reyn, one of Belgium’s leading conductors of the new generation, enjoys a wide repertoire from baroque to contemporary music with an eye on the historical performance practice.


Bart has worked with the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, the Brussels Philharmonic, the Slovenian Philharmonic, B’Rock, Il Gardellino, Brandenburger Symphoniker, the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra and the Danish National Symphony Orchestra. As from 2022 he is permanent guest conductor with Anima Eterna Bruges.


He has been Chief Conductor of the Danish Radio Choir 2016-2022, and in 2019 he was appointed Musical Director of the Flemish Radio Choir. 

He is also a regular guest conductor with many top-ranking vocal ensembles, such as the Netherlands Chamber Choir, Cappella Amsterdam, the Netherlands Radio Choir, the MDR Rundfunkchor Leipzig, the SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart, the NDR Chor Hamburg, the Rundfunkchor Berlin, Collegium Vocale Gent, Netherlands Bach Society and the BBC Singers. He has worked with composers Steve Reich, Tan Dun, James MacMillan en Kaija Saariaho.


In 2022 his first oratorio recording Die Auferstehung und Himmelfahrt Jesu by C.P.E. Bach was awarded a Diapason d'Or.

Dirigent Bart Van Reyn is gepassioneerd door de stem en beweegt zich in een breed repertoire van barok tot hedendaags met oog voor de historische uitvoeringspraktijk.

 

Hij was chef-dirigent van het Deens Radio Koor 2016-2022 en sinds 2019 is hij muziekdirecteur van het Vlaams Radiokoor.

Hij was te gast bij Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, Brussels Philharmonic, B’Rock, Casco Phil, Il Gardellino, Slovenian Philharmonic, Brandenburger Symphoniker, Nederlands Kamerorkest en Danish National Symphony Orchestra. Since 2022 is hij vaste gastdirigent bij Anima Eterna Brugge.

Hij is een graag geziene gast bij tal van vocale topformaties zoals het Nederlands Kamerkoor, Cappella Amsterdam, Groot Omroepkoor, MDR Rundfunkchor Leipzig, SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart, NDR Chor Hamburg, Rundfunkchor Berlin, DR Vokalensemblet, Nederlandse Bachvereniging, Collegium Vocale Gent en de BBC Singers.

Hij werkte samen met componisten als Steve Reich, Tan Dun, James MacMillan en Kaija Saariaho.


In 2022 werd zijn eerste oratorium-opname Die Auferstehung und Himmelfahrt Jesu van C.P.E. Bach meteen bekroond met een Diapason d'Or.
